Today, an agreement on cooperation between the Ural and West Siberian Research and Education Centers has been signed. The document was signed at the Innoprom exhibition with the participation of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev and Head of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler.
“The cooperation agreement between the two Research and Educational Centers located in the Urals Federal District is the result of a lot of joint work,” emphasized the Envoy. “This year, five joint strategic sessions on key issues of interaction took place. The proposals formulated on the basis of their results are fixed in the agreement. I am sure it will become a new impetus for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in educational, scientific and project activities”.
The agreement implies cooperation between the Ural and West Siberian Research and Educational Centers in the area of involvement of industrial partners in the support of youth laboratories and implementation of joint scientific and technological projects in production, creation of joint educational products, academic exchange of teachers, as well as educational and scientific information and materials, organization of internship programs for employees of the Research and Educational Center, joint expert events, access to the library of online courses and other areas.
From the side of UIREC for Advanced Production Technologies and Materials the document was signed by Igor Manzhurov, the Center’s Director for Development, and on behalf of the West-Siberian Interregional Scientific and Educational Center the agreement was signed by Denis Neustroev, General Director of the Agency for Development of Scientific and Educational Projects, which provides operational management of the activities of the West Siberian REC participants.
Two world-class Research and Educational Centers exist in the Urals Federal District. All the regions of the Urals Federal District are participants of RECs. The West Siberian Interregional Research and Education Center unites Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Tyumen Oblast. The participants of Ural Interregional REC are Kurgan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Oblasts. The Centers conduct projects in such areas as ecology, energy, new materials and technologies, aerospace, oil and gas industry, biological safety, Arctic and education.
